The New England
Wheelchair Athletic Association (NEWAA) is a Regional Sports
Organization (RSO) of Wheelchair Sports USA (WSUSA). Since 1966
the NEWAA has held competitive Sporting Events for Disabled
Athletes. Anyone who has a mobility-limiting physical disability,
from novice to elite athlete, are welcome and encouraged to
participate in NEWAA events. Spinal cord injuries, Spina-Bifida,
Post-Polio, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and Amputation
are a few examples of the challenges our Athletes meet. Individuals
compete against others of 'Similar Ability' based on a Classification
System. There are three age divisions: Juniors (up to age 21),
Adult (21 to 39), and Masters (40 & over).
